What Is The Opposite of Kyriarchy?
September 4, 2009
We have a word for the intersecting structures of oppression. It is very handy.
But what about the non-kyriarchal structure we actually want? There is no word for it, far as I know.
How’s about we make one up?
I propose that it’s agaparchy.
“Agape,” from the Greek, meaning “unconditional love.”
“Archy,” meaning “rule by.”
Just a suggestion.
